Cost of Liposuction Houston

The costs of liposuction can vary greatly depending on the surgeon, the city you're having the procedure done, and the area of the body where you desire to have liposuction.  Moreover, the costs also would be dependent whether the procedure is being done at a surgery center or the hospital, or being done in the clinic.

Surgeon Fees

The surgeon fees varies from location to location.  If one is having their procedure done in Beverly Hills or New York, the surgeon fees may be enormously high (up to $50,000.)

If the procedure is being done by a non-plastic surgeon, such as a family practitioner or a dermatologist, the fees may be lower depending on the experience of the physician.

The plastic surgeon fees may also vary depending on the training of the surgeon.  Special training are required to perform certain procedures, such as the High-Definition VASER liposculpture.

Facility Fees

Liposuction may be performed in the clinic or at the surgery center/hospital.  Most plastic surgeons perform their procedure at a hospital or a surgery center.  Certain procedures, such as large volume liposuction, need to be performed in a hospital setting for safety issues since majority of these patients would need an overnight stay.

Hospitals and certain surgery centers only allow surgeons to perform a surgical procedure, such as liposuction.  Thus, if your liposuction surgeon is a non-surgeon, such as an emergency room physician or a family practitioner, they most likely perform the procedure in their clinic since they are not allowed to perform these procedures in a hospital setting.  Typically, procedures performed in a clinic setting are significantly cheaper.

Surgery centers and hospitals vary in prices.

Anesthesia Fees

Large volume liposuction are typically performed under general anesthesia.  If a procedure is being done at a hospital setting, the anesthesia is being performed by a board-certified anesthesiologists.  Anesthesia fees vary from anesthesiologist to anesthesiologist, and will vary depending on the amount of time you spend in the operating room.
